Name: The Young Patriots Essay Scholarship Contest

Information And Eligibility: The National Center for Policy Analysis and Debate Central is hosting the Young Patriots Essay Scholarship Contest, designed to challenge high school students to creatively solve problems in the realm of public policy through the art of writing. This college scholarship opportunity is open to High school freshman, High school sophomores, High school juniors, and High school seniors. Qualified applicants will be required to compose an essay on the following topic: According to the four required readings. What policy changes should the government pursue in order to best foster economic prosperity? All essays must be written in English and should not exceed 1,200 words. Essays should follow the Modern Language Association (MLA) format, and citations should be listed in a Works Cited page at the end of the document. First, second and third place winners will be awarded scholarships in the amounts of $5000, $3000, and $2000, and have their essay published on Debate Central.
