Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a member of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) national organization.
• Must be an undergraduate student majoring in physics, physics education, or a related field.
• Plan to pursue a career in teaching physics or related sciences at the K-12 or college level.
• Exhibit strong academic performance and a passion for physics education.

Application Requirements:

• Complete the SPS and AAPT Mary Beth Monroe Memorial Scholarship application online through the SPS portal.
• Provide a personal statement that includes:
  • Your academic achievements and career goals in physics education.
  • Your experience in teaching or mentoring others in physics-related topics.
  • How this scholarship will support your journey toward becoming an educator.
• Submit an official transcript showing completed and planned coursework in physics and education-related subjects.
• Two letters of recommendation:
  • One from an SPS advisor or faculty member familiar with your academic and teaching-related achievements.
  • One from another faculty member or mentor who can attest to your potential as a physics educator.
• Certification from the Department Chair confirming your academic standing and progress toward your degree.
